Annie and Lucy guard a vessel of history — an ancient wine amphora — as I reflect on my final paper for Stanford University’s History of Wine course, 2023. From antiquity to today, the story of wine is one worth savoring.
Annie and Lucy guard a vessel of history — an ancient wine amphora — as I reflect on my final paper for Stanford University’s History of Wine course, 2023. From antiquity to today, the story of wine is one worth savoring.

I’m excited to share my final paper, Uncorking History, presented to Dr. Patrick Hunt at Stanford University in 2023. This paper is the culmination of a fascinating course that offered a deep dive into the history of wine, drawing heavily from insightful lectures and the compelling book Wine Journeys: Myth & History. Throughout the class, we explored how archaeological discoveries and religious artifacts reveal the profound cultural and historical significance of wine across civilizations. Join me as I unpack the stories behind the world’s oldest wines and the myths that have shaped them through time.
